SCOPE AND CONTENT
This collection contains the W. E. Shaw family Bible, 1939.  The Bible is entitled, The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments (from the Shaw family), American Standard Version, Thomas Nelson & Sons, NY, copyright 1929.  Handwriting on the inside indicated that the Bible had been presented to (unknown) by Alton Hughes, 15 Dec 1939.  Bible is black leather, and approximately 5” wide x 7” long x 2” thick.  Bible includes handwritten will dated 1952 of W. E. Shaw, witnessed by J. B. Bennett, Jay Sampson, Jean Sampson, and L. B. Green (Will was filed 8 Mar 1952).
